Military Family Session. Cannon Ball Park. Bay Ridge Brooklyn Photographer. Baggett Family

Last week I posted a promotion for Memorial Day. I offered a free family or couples photography sessions to military families as a small way to say thank you for the amazing sacrifices of not only active military officers, but their entire families. 

One of the first families to respond was the Baggett family. The love between this family is unreal.  We spent Memorial Day afternoon in Cannon Ball Park ( John Paul Jones Park) in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn. It was sunny and about 80 degrees! A perfect day to be outside. 

We got to walk around and talk and after the kids gave me their biggest smiles, they were able to play by the cannon. The kids played and mom & dad were close by watching and preparing to catch them if needed. When her son got scared when climbing too high, mom came to the rescue and made him feel so safe. Then when their ever so brave daughter wanted to climb to the top of the cannon at Cannon Ball Park, dad bravely scaled the top and held her tight so he could make her dreams come true. I would have been terrified... but I guess thats just the kind of courage I should come to expect from our Coast Guard! I feel privileged to have met such a wonderful family & wish them luck on their new adventures in Chicago.
